The Milwaukee Brewers
Named after city’s rich history with the brewing industry, the Milwaukee Brewers are members of the MLB’s Central Division. Their home stadium, Miller Park, might also be a throwback to the history of breweries around the city, but the team stands on their own as a formidable baseball team in the league, too.

The Brewers got their start as the Seattle Pilots in 1969. They only managed to play a single season in this year before they were re-acquired in a bankruptcy court by the MLB Commissioner at the time, Bud Selig, who relocated them to Milwaukee. They were originally created as an expansion club for the city.
In their formative years, the Brewers didn’t have much to brag about. They didn’t have a winning season until 1978, where they won 93 games. In this season, they finished in third overall in the Eastern Division, only six and a half games behind the New York Yankees. The Brewers were well on their way to success.
They followed up their wins in 1979, where they won 95 games in the East yet again. They trailed only behind the Baltimore Orioles in home runs this season, but failed to keep a consistent momentum following the season. They rode the good and bad times like a roller coaster, but still managed to stay together to this very day.
The Milwaukee Brewers managed to gain enough popularity over the years to have a stadium built in their hometown. In 2001, the Miller Park was opened over the former Milwaukee County Stadium. With a seating capacity of 41,900 and the only sporting facility to don a retractable, fan-shaped roof, the stadium itself can be considered quite the homage to both fans of beer and the Milwaukee Brewers!
