About TD Bank

As the second largest bank in Canada, Toronto-Dominion Bank has forged their name as a banking network in the US as well. With nearly twenty million clients, and over a thousand branches worldwide, opening up a checking account will make sure your finances are always in order no matter where you go.

A group of business men started the bank in the latter half of the 19th century. They weren’t initially involved in banking, but dealt with transactions that involved grain instead. Since there weren’t many institutions that handled their unique financial needs at the time, these enterprising individuals took it upon themselves to create something that catered to their needs better.

The first Bank of Toronto opened its doors on 78 Church Street in 1856. Only three staff members manned this branch, but the founding members were quick to expand the institution within and beyond Ontario.

The Bank of Toronto found competition from Dominion Bank, who opened their doors in Ontario in 1871. Dominion also created a vast network of branches, and became the first Canadian bank to operate two branches within Toronto. Both banks boomed in business as the 19th century came to a close.

While both banks managed to survive the hardships of the 20th century, they found themselves unable to keep up with the ever-changing banking landscape. In 1955, the two banks merged, and formed the TD we have all come to know today. They struck up a great deal of other acquisitions since then, and as they say, the rest is history.

Today, nearly all provinces of Canada have a TD branch or two in operation. This includes the Northwest Territories, and even the Yukon, if you happened to open a checking account in the backwater! Plenty of US branches exist too, and are prominent in the East Coast states like New York, Virginia, and Washington DC.

Reordering Checks

Of course, not every TD account holder will be satisfied with the stock checkbooks they hand out at every branch, so the need to reorder might come to mind. Nowadays, customers have plenty of options when it comes to check customization, so think of what’s available to you when you decide to chuck that drab old TD checkbook of yours.

• Most banks, TD included, will be happy to refer you to their printer and supplier of checks. Simply use the contact details they give you to hook up with a reputable printer who can offer you more designs than the TD standard.
• If you’d like to cut the middleman, find a check printer yourself. You won’t be limited to having the TD name printed on each and every one of your checks; plenty more designs will be made available to you if you look hard enough!

After you’ve settled on a method to finally get those dreary TD checks out of the way for good, you will have plenty of choices ahead of you. Will you want a pre-made design? A lot of companies already offer a great deal of checks that have attractive designs printed on them. Some will have checks with your favorite TV shows on them, while others can have simple patterns embossed in the background.

People who desire the utmost in customization can go for tailor-made designs. Businesses and organizations can benefit from this design method especially, and can have their name or logos printed on the face of every check. Nothing quite says “professionalism” than a check that sports the logo of your company on the face.

Both businesses and individuals might also end up buying appropriate accessories to go along with a check reorder. Make the most of a purchase by getting practical accessories that don’t only protect your checks from harm, but can also increase your efficiency and work flow. Practical accessories, like transaction registers and checkbook covers, can also be personalized to an extent.

Perhaps the reordering process is just as easy as the customization. Like most online shopping sites, reordering a set of new TD checks is as easy as picking out the checks from an online list, typing out your details, and checking them out with an approved payment method. You’ll only end up experiencing a difficulty in the waiting game.
